This Week's Theme: FOOD

1.  Do you have a favorite food?  One you just can't imagine living without?

Yes!!  Popcorn.  I am an addict!  Oh and Philly cheese steak sandwiches!! I would just die if they ceased to exist one day!

2.  Do you prefer homemade or do you eat out a lot?

I like to cook.  I actually love cooking for people.  It makes me happy.  I do like to eat out on occasion, but since it's usually me vs 3 kids I prefer to handle all of the food tantrums in the privacy of my home.

3.  Is food comforting to you?

Some foods are.  The ones that remind me of home or from when I was little.

4.  Do you have foods that you absolutely cannot stand that your significant other loves?  Do you make it even if you hate it, or do you just force them to go without?

OMG!  YES!  I HATE fish!  He LOVES fish!  It disgusts me to no end!  I do cook it for him though.  *shivers*

5.  What's your go to food when you are just too tired to mess with anything else?

Pizza!  It makes everyone happy!!

Okay, now it's your turn. Grab the button and questions and repost on your page!!! You don't have to answer the questions, you can just repost the button on your sidebar or in a post. Link your page or post up and mingle with other bloggers!!! No rules, just meet new people!

Plexus Slim Review and Giveaway

After having my last baby I have been struggling to keep those last couple of lingering pounds off.  So, when I was contacted by Haley, a Plexus Slim consultant, to try the product and do a review, I jumped right on it!

I patiently waited by the box for it to arrive.  Okay, that's a lie.  I Impatiently checked the mailbox everyday waiting for it to arrive.  THEN, one day, there it was!!  Just calling my name.  "Drink me, Story of a Girl!  It's only once a day!!"  Since, I have a difficult time and am easily tempted, I broke down and drank that delicious drink.  It tasted like Crystal Light.  It was fantastic!  There was also a tiny little accelerator capsule. I knew from the first day that this was a a program I could stick with.  I took the drink when I woke up, took the kids to school, came home and made a couple of slices of toast, and took the pill after I ate them.  That was it.  There were no diet restrictions.  I don't usually eat breakfast.  However, this stuff is packed with vitamins, and taking vitamins on an empty tummy is a BIG NO, NO!!  That was my only dietary change.  This product is also stimulant free.  That means NO caffeine!!  So if you are sensitive to stimulants like that, this is the product for you.

I only did the 3 day trial.  I was a little skeptical about what could happen in 3 days.  I was pleasantly surprised with the results though.  While they weren't DRAMATIC, they were there.  What else can you expect in 3 days though?  I don't believe in miracle weight loss.  I also believe that slow is the way to go.  It's safer and easier to tone up if you lose at a healthy pace and this product is healthy.

This is what I did each morning

Okay, are you ready for some "Before & Afters"?  I was told to put on some of my clothes that were a bit too snug on day one, Then on day 4 I was told to put them on again.  Here is what happened.

Anybody want to win a 3 day trial like the one I just finished doing?  Well, She was kind enough to offer one up to one you lucky readers out there!  Just enter using the rafflecopter below.

Real Kids Shades Review and Giveaway

I recently received an email asking if I would be willing to do a review on sunglasses.  HECK YEAH!!  Then I realized there was a catch.  The sunglasses were for my kids!!  I was so excited for them though.  Doing company reviews sometimes takes a little time away from them.  However, this review allowed them to be involved.  Their faces lit up when they realized they were going to get to help.  Even better, they got to scroll through the website and pick out whatever pair they wanted.

This company was so wonderful to work with!  What company is it?  The are called Real Kids Shades.

They offer "Doctor recommended sunblock that can be applied directly to the eyes". Hehe I read that on their site and loved it!  Real Kids Shades are specifically constructed to fit kids’ faces.  All of the frames wrap around to help prevent exposure to peripheral light.  Pretty awesome, huh?  What's even cooler is, some of the glasses can even be fitted with prescription lenses by your optician.  Every pair also comes with straps to hold the glasses securely in place.

These sunglasses are also durable and comfortable.  Oh and very stylish!  My kids LOVE them.   We left the house yesterday and my almost 4 year old forgot his and started crying.  We had to turn around and get them.  My 8 year old commented on how they were wayyyyy cooler than regular old sunglasses for kids because "these look like look like grown up glasses".  Baby, girl can't talk but she sure didn't mind wearing them at all.  She looked so adorable in them too!

Their website has a wealth of information.  Real Kids Shades has really done their research, and they have created glasses that I trust to protect my children's eyes.

  • Third-party verification of 100%
  • UV-A/UV-B protection
  • Shatterproof and impact-resistant
  • polycarbonate lenses
  • Wrap-around frames to protect from peripheral light
  • A comfortable fit – not too tight, not too loose
  • Transparent enough to see your child’s eyes
  • Tested to contain no lead, bisphenol A or phthalates
  • A strong warranty – high quality
  • manufacturers stand behind their sunglasses with significant replacement guarantees

Here are a few of the sunglasses they offer.  I'm telling you, they have something to suit every child's needs.

Here are some pics of my kiddos enjoying them!  This company was so kind!  They sent a pair to each of my boys and they sent 2 pair to the princess!!

They came in this case and it has a belt clip on it.  The kids love it and can clip them at their side when they go inside somewhere!!

They were mailed in durable packaging!

Overall, my family and I are extremely pleased with these high quality, durable, and stunningly cute sunglasses.  I highly recommend you try a pair for your kids.  Especially for those of you who spend a lot of time outdoors.

Remember, protecting our eyes from the sun is just as important to our health as protecting our skin.

This Week's Theme: LUCK

1.  Do you believe in luck? Why or why not?

Not so much.  I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason.  I don't always know the reason but I know that there is a plan in place.  Free will and playing odds are what gets us what we have.  Not luck.

2.  Do you or have you ever had any good luck charms?

Nope.  Nothing.  Nada.  I know, I'm boring.

3.  Does your Significant Other have a lucky charm? What is it?

No.  Well, he claims I am but I'm not sure I can be considered all that charming.  hehe

4.  Where do you think the word Luck originated from? Just guess if you don't know

Glad this isn't a test!  I have no clue.  I would guess Ireland with all of their lucky charms, and such.  However, if the answer seems that obvious, I am typically wrong.  LOL

5.  Do you know of anyone who goes overboard with luck or lucky charms? Please explain!

My kids tend to go crazy overboard with Lucky Charms cereal does that count?
Really, I don't!!  Well, I don't think I do. I wish I did!!  I am always looking to add some humor to my life. Anyone want to apply to be my crazy lucky charm friend? haha

Okay, now it's your turn. Grab the button and questions and repost on your page!!! You don't have to answer the questions, you can just repost the button on your sidebar or in a post. Link your page or post up and mingle with other bloggers!!! No rules, just meet new people!

Someone Pass Me the Texas Driving Manual...

So I can smack a million people with it!!!

I've been trying to refrain from writing on this subject.  Just the thought of it makes me go all kinds of crazy.  It also makes me angry!  Sooooooo angry!! After what I witnessed today, I realized I've had enough!

I.NEED.TO.VENT.

I'm sure this is an issue that I know irritates a lot of people and I think it needs to be on the front burner!  All of you gun control activists can shove it!  The real problem we are facing in this country are our drivers!!  (This really isn't a gun control debate though.  I am just using it for the dramatic effect. Don't start it here.  You will lose against me.  I heart guns)

Moving on...

The reason I am comparing this to gun control, is not because driving accidents are splattered all over our news.  When a local breaking news alert pops across our screen it is typically one of three things; wild fires, boil water order, OR fatal car crash.  It is an extremely rare to hear about fatal shootings.  While they do happen, accidents have killed a whole lot more people around here.

Let me explain further.  There are a whole lot of people crammed into our town.  The roads are packed a lot.  Driving in this town reminds me of watching a football game.  When I watch football it seems like a huge jumbled mess with BIG guys coming from every angle.  I was always taught to practice defensive driving.  Here there are seriously teams.  I swear!!!  There have to be some sort of secret practices that I wasn't invited too.  When I get out on these roads and drive it feels like someone threw me the ball and 100 big men are running toward me.  I just want curl up in a ball in the middle of the field and pray that the 100 big men don't all plow into me, leaving me at the bottom of a very serious, and huge pile up!!!  I've never witnessed such a high amount of offensive players in this driving "game".  People around here are constantly practicing offensive driving though.  Then there are those of us stuck constantly playing defense.  Trying to protect ourselves and our team (family).

Around here people don't stop at the stop signs when coming off of these tiny little roads.  They just go.  Not a care in the world.  Are three quarters of my town suicidal?  Could that be the issue.  I drive by at least one accident a day.  Not kidding.  Oh and seriously, no one can do the speed limit or even stick to the speed limit they chose.  I passed someone earlier because they were doing 40 in a 55 and then as soon as I did that, they hit their gas, rode my ass, didn't even bother to pull my hair or make me scream, then passed me and slowed back down to 40.  Really people?  Is it an insecurity thing?  Does it make people feel like a lesser person if they are passed??  I don't understand.  Another thing.  Is it really necessary when there are two lanes and one is empty, and one has me in it, for people to pull out right in front of me and NOT get into the empty lane??  Seriously folks!!  If my kids weren't always with me I would have hit so many people on purpose!  Not.Joking.  If I'm alone, I will not hit my breaks!

Also, there are turn lane which only about 40% of the drivers around her use.  Most put their blinker on and stay in the driving lane.  Then there are those people turning right who don't even bother to use a signal.  OMG and FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, if there is no passing lane and the speed limit is 45 do at least that!  Don't do 35 or 40.  Some of us have things to do and screaming kids to do them with!  Focus people!  FOCUS!!

Oh and then there was yesterday.  Two neighbors passed each other.  I was behind them.  The one in front of me promptly slammed on their breaks in my neighborhood as did the other and the persisted to chit chat with me waiting behind them.  HELLLLLLLOOOOOOOO!!

I could seriously write an entire book on this subject but I will leave you with the store that really got my goat.  Yes, I just typed "got my goat" and I have no effing clue why!

I was on one of our busiest roads here in good ol' Abilene,TX when someone slammed on their breaks in the LEFT lane to let someone in a black and hot pink mustang exit a parking lot.  Note, that I said left lane.  That means if no one in the right lane stopped to let this car out the left lane would get backed up.  Venture to guess if anyone in the right lane stopped?  Care to guess which lane I happened to be in?  Yes, I was in the backed up left lane traffic bumper to bumper, while the right lane was just zooming by with no chance of getting over.  FINALLY, someone in the right lane stopped and let the girl go. Did the girl go?  NO.  Everyone was flagging her to go, but she didn't.  Now 2 lanes of traffic are backing up.  Finally the girl goes.  All while my popsicles are in the trunk of my car melting into nothing. The girl, in the pink and black mustang with pink license plates that said "Icheer" held up all of this traffic and it turned out the damn cheerleader needed a freakin' cheering section to get her to actually go!   Everyone cheer with me now "LET'S GO, HIT THE GAS, LET'S GO" *CLAP, CLAP, CLAP*

There are more legal irresponsible car owners than there are gun owners.  Take away their damn cars!  If I foul up while driving, I always wave and mouth "I'm sorry".  It's rare to see though.  One guy nearly side swiped me, I honked at him to let him know I was there and he rolled his window down and gave me the finger and called me a bitch.  This is the kind of crap that goes on all day every day!  Make these morons stop!!!!!!!!!

RANT OVER
Only because I have a few shows to catch up on and I really want some popcorn.

This Week's Theme: Goals

1.  Do you believe setting goals are important in life?

Only realistic ones.  If they are too hard to accomplish then I i just feel like it adds more stress to my already chaotic life.

2.  Do you set time tables for your goals? If so is one goal you are determined to meet in 2013?

Yes, my goals are usually followed by the phrase "some day".  That's a time...right?  hehe
One goal I do have for 2013 is to continue to grow the businesses I'm involved in and to further my education a bit.

3.  Are there any past goals that you are proud to announce you have met?

I survived the "terrible 2's" & the "trying 3's" with one of my three kids so far.  I've set goals to survive these ages with the other 2 kids as well.  OH, and WITHOUT ending up in a mental home!  Wish me luck!

4.  If you have children, are you teaching them about, and helping them make goals for the future?

I have been trying to help the oldest set short term goals.  Saving money for things he wants, achieving grades, and furthering his reading skills have been 3 of the things he has wanted me to help him accomplish.

5.  Do you have a bucket list? have you started to work toward any of the goals on it yet?

The only thing on my list right now is to travel, travel, travel!  Not sure it will ever happen but it is what I would love to do.

Okay, now it's your turn. Grab the button and questions and repost on your page!!! You don't have to answer the questions, you can just repost the button on your sidebar or in a post. Link your page or post up and mingle with other bloggers!!! No rules, just meet new people!
